HAS INTERNET CULTURE CHANGED AFTER COVID-19?

7/21/2020
The pandemic was a disaster for almost all businesses: some of them closed, but others didn't want to stop and dedicated themselves with greater commitment to understanding how the great world of the Web works.

During the lock-down I saw shop owners trying their hand at advertising on social media, trying to keep the sales of their business alive, while others started building their own website in the hope of still being able to offer their goods despite the closed shutter.

Even the customers, in the three months of total closure, it was certainly not idle and indulged in online shopping.

This health disaster, however, has also led to an enrichment of mass digital culture and has made people aware of the existence of numerous services including the use of videoconferences or doing the shopping online. The ZOOM video conferencing platform, for example, practically exploded during the Covid period (see here https://bit.ly/3jpayGX).

BUT LET'S GO BACK TO SMALL BUSINESSES
My work involves constant collaboration with many small businesses and currently, after Covid, I am finding that (unlike before) digital culture is no longer a taboo for them.

Before Covid, if I had undertaken any discussion with them relating to a website, they would have looked at me with evident forced tolerance and everything that went in one ear came out the other without any interest and awareness of a real innovative opportunity that is easily understandable and achievable.

TODAY THINGS HAVE CHANGED
Incredibly they listen to you and try to understand how they too can start building something on the Web. They listen and pay more attention even if the topic is difficult.

Probably they begin to understand that they have to make up for lost time and they are more committed to integrating the Web part into their business, finally considering everything appropriate and indispensable to complete any business activity.

Even those who have always underestimated technology in this area are slowly getting closer to the digital world so much so that, more and more frequently, even "micro activities" finally start to think about their catalog online.
The die has been cast, let's see what the future holds for us.
